When accessing operator mode from within a transaction, if the current user has any issues with the item(s) in their basket, the operator will be presented with messages explaining what the issues are. These will be presented below the user details panel, and above the operator menu functionality buttons. Three possible messages can be displayed:

Insufficient funds

In cases where the total cost of the items in the basket exceeds the user’s available funds, the following message will be displayed: ‘User does not have sufficient funds to complete the transaction.’

Limit reached

When the total cost of the transaction does not exceed the user’s available funds, but they are attempting to spend beyond any imposed spending limits, the following message will be displayed: ‘The transaction would exceed the user’s spending limit.’

Restricted item(s)

Finally, in cases where the user has items in their basket that the system is preventing the user from purchasing, the following message will be displayed: ‘The user has items in their basket that they are allergic to and/or are restricted from purchasing. Remove these items before continuing.’

When there are restricted items in the basket, these will be flagged with a red warning icon next to them. Tapping on this icon will display the reason that this item is being prevented.

Resolving these issues

In order to resolve these messages and complete the transaction, you will need to remove the required item(s) from the transaction. See the section on Voiding items.
