During the doom and gloom of the end of 2020, any opportunity to come together and celebrate the hard work of those in the education sector must be grasped with both hands.

Yesterday, professionals from all types of businesses in education, came together via Zoom to celebrate individuals and teams that have made a difference to food and education catering this year, for the LACA 2020 Awards for Excellence.

The award ceremony is usually held at the LACA Main Event, but moving the awards to a virtual ceremony didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits.

Amongst the attendees, the spirit of togetherness and pride in the work done across the industry to ensure pupils have had access to hot and healthy meals was apparent, especially amongst the nominees.

The award ceremony sought to recognise good management, strong performances and high achievements amongst all involved, and CRB Cunninghams are proud to have been nominated for Outstanding Supplier of the Year Award for the development of our Fusion Online pre-order app over the past year.

The final Chairman’s Award was given to Jessica Crane of Chartwells, education and catering foodservice group, and was met with much enthusiasm and appreciation. Upon receiving the award, Jessica stated:

“I love that I can use my passion for delicious and healthy food in my job and make a difference as a nutritionist. I particularly like the fact that our nutrition team are always striving to do even more, and there is never a dull moment!”

From the team at CRB Cunninghams, we’d like to offer congratulations to all the winners whose hard work and dedication to the industry have shone through this past year.

As 2020 draws to a close, we're reflecting on the positive impact that the education industry has had on children and families in the UK, and look forward to the time when we can all come together again.
