1966

CRB Solutions first opened its doors in Edinburgh on 2nd December 1966.

CRB stand for Cash Registers Buccleuch, named after Buccleuch Street in Edinburgh, the home of our first office.

1995

Our signature cashless catering product, IMPACT, was installed at St. Margaret's Academy in West Lothian in 1995. The goal was to anonymise free school meals and speed up service by removing cash from the PoS.

1997

Two years after the installation, Princess Anne was impressed by the system while touring Scottish schools.

2002

In 2002, the Scottish Executive introduced national nutrition standards for school lunches to tackle Europe's highest child obesity levels.

We worked with councils to create technology to monitor compliance with the new food standards.

2005

The first user group was formed in 2005 to provide a forum for customers to help shape future development. This close relationship with our customers has allowed us to ensure that our systems are continually enhanced.

2011

By working closely with customers, we introduced technology supporting a 'Grab & Go' lunch service. In 2011, the introduction of pre-order kiosks provided another service point for pupils to pick up pre-ordered food outside of the dining hall.

2014

In 2014, CRB Solutions was acquired by Jonas Software Group and merged with Cunninghams EPoS Solutions to form CRB Cunninghams. We now have 100+ employees across 2 offices in Edinburgh and Birmingham.

2015

Fusion Cashless is released as the ideal modern-day solution for schools. This all-encompassing package offers cashless catering, online payment, and enhanced reporting, allowing schools to centralise their software requirements.

The online payment platform iPay was developed to provide schools with an all-in-one cashless and online payment solution.

2019

The first of its kind, the Fusion Online pre-order meal app was launched in 2019 - and won the Public Sector Catering Innovation Award!

2021

We acquired Nutmeg, a nutritional analysis and menu planning tool that helps schools meet school meal nutrition standards and comply with Natasha's Law.

2022

Facial Recognition was launched as an innovative and completely contactless recognition method. The fast and secure technology is up to three times faster than fingerprint biometrics, helping schools increase service speed.

2023

The fully integrated Chip & Pin solution provides another school payment channel, allowing students, parents and visitors to make card payments at the PoS. Users can pay with debit/ credit cards and Apple and Google Pay!

2024

A new way to serve school meals, the Self-Serve Kiosk, was launched as a modern student ordering experience. The exciting new Self-Serve Kiosk offers schools a fast and convenient checkout in the dining hall.

Students simply scan or search for their meal items via the interactive screen, and payment is instantly deducted from their cashless account during checkout.
